Hi there, thanks for visiting my blog. My name is Ian and I love NZ wine! I decided to start a blog to share my experience and passion about New Zealand vineyards and wines. It all started during my first visit to Hawkes Bay to participate in the first Air New Zealand half marathon event. I thought it would be a great experience to run among the vineyards and indulge in some fine wines at the finish line. Indulged I did and ever since then, I have ran at different events throughout New Zealand. Obviously running is the secondary purpose, the main is to visit nearby wineries at those cities. So I guess you can call it a win-win situation – exercise and drink.

I personally prefer red wines and grape varities such as syrah, cabernet sauvignon blends and pinot noir. I love wines from Church Road, Craggy Range, Ata Rangi, Villa Maria, Te Mata, Esk Valley and Pegasus Bay.
